Children’s Fitness Show Pilot

Abbey and Maximus is a children’s fitness show created by Kira Elliot and Carrie Drapac of Comfy Fitness. These ladies have been concerned with the growing epidemic of childhood obesity and they decided they would do something about it. Today, most schools around the nation are cutting gym and recess and kids physical activity level has plummeted. In response to this alarming situation, Carrie and Kira got together with a team of writers and produced a fun and educational show for kids to get off the couch and get their bodies in motion.

During the writing process, the girls came to Joone Studios for a comedy show that was doing a weekly run. Interested in what Joone was up to they looked up our site and after viewing some of Jessica’s production design work, they thought it wise to have a meeting. Thus, months later, Joone Studios was on board as producer and Jessica was also tackling the heavy amount of production design needed for this show. What was so heavy about this production design? Well, the script called for three locations: a Body Detectives Headquarters, the inside of a human nose and the inside of a kids stomach.

A week went into the actual building of these sets and took place in a Pilsen warehouse we had generously donated to us by New West Reality. The stomach ended up being 36 feet long and 15 feet high.
